Muir is Tir - Land and Sea Residency

In August 2018 I had the opportunity to travel to the Outer Hebrides in Scotland to take part in the Muir is Tir - Land and Sea Residency, co-organised by Sail Britain and the An Lanntair Arts Centre. Half of the residency took place on a sailing boat, where we explored the coastline of the Outer Hebrides, and the other half was spent on on the island of Berneray.

My work from this residency is ongoing but I have been very inspired by the Hebridean tradition of placenaming, as well as John Macfarlane's book The Old Ways, particularly his writing about hidden paths and traces of movement within the landscape.
